Feature request - Veeam Appliances - Job handling during appliance update

Post by petesteven » 1 person likes this post

My client and I are not happy with the automatic reboot of the appliances after the update.

The appliances update and restart abruptly, regardless of whether a job is running or not. The jobs then fail.

We have already scheduled the update process for a time when no large backups are running, but log backups always run and backup copies from other locations sometimes take a very long time.

This means we run the risk of the backup chain for the day being inconsistent.

If the jobs were at least disabled beforehand, no more data would be written to the repo.

It would be good if a way could be found to disable the jobs, wait until the last log backup is complete, and only then reboot the appliance/repos. And enabling the jobs after update again.
