Feature Request: veeam.backup.shell.exe add password field

We would like to start the Veeam Backup Console from the command line using the credentials stored in our password manager. Please add a field/variable for password in the syntax of veeam.backup.shell.exe to enable the integration with the password manager:
for example: veeam.backup.shell.exe –logon VeeamBackupServer:localhost:9392:domain\username:password

What kind of Veeam tasks are you trying to automate? Have you tried to PowerShell snap-in instead? It has a specific commandlet allowing you to work with particular backup server - Connect-VBRServer. It accepts password as well as user parameters. Thanks.

We are only trying to auotmate the logon to the backup shell, so we can connect quickly and securely to the backup UI. Admins usually just want to check or adjust one or two things using the UI. We have dozens of (mostly Veeam) customers to manage, hence the reason for the password manager integration.

We are aware of Manage Backup Portal, but that's not on our roadmap yet.

Do you consider passing credentials in plain text to be a secure way to connect?

There is no password field when creating shortcuts, we already tried that. (SupportID 01702482).

To be honest I was waiting for a comment on the plain text credentials. We connect to a jump host through an encrypted virtual channel. Passwords are not send in plain text.

We are open to new ideas though.
