Feature Request: Veeam for Google Workspace

Back in 2020 Veeam for Google Workspace was in the works and then it got shelfed.

It's time to get this released!

Veeam will be able to capture more K12 business if they were able to backup google workspace. Many K12 districts are still using old backup solutions I.E. Barracuda appliance and the list goes on.

By offering Veeam for Google workspace you can capture a huge backup market for backup & replication.

I don't have stats but most districts are Google workspace. Sure some have office 365.

From a capturing k12 marketshare prospective it makes sense.

How many districts out there have looked at other expensive solutions for Google workspace? Lets here from other K12's.

yes, we are aware that many schools in the US use Google workspace. We got many requests from that region / sector. So we evaluated the global need.

Conclusion: we don't go that direction for foreseeable future.

But keep it coming, it's a valid feature request

same vote here, we have been developing our business with google workspace since 2015, currently we are using a third party backup solution for this, in addition to veeam b&r for the rest, we really wish Veeam would support this environment: features could be simple initially, then embellish in new releases, like you did for MS365.

+1. Shared drive backup would be a good feature. Many Synology NAS devices can back up Google Workspace, but it would be good to be able to use Veeam.

Just wondering if anyone knows if Veeam can back up the whole Google tenant and restore it in the case of being hacked or lost our super admin credentials.

Most current solutions only protect Gmail, Google Drive, Shared drives, Contacts, and Calendar data. I had a look at our current backup solution and found that a Google Form is backed up as a zip file containing a jpg, a csv file and the html of the form.
The big problem with backing up Google Workspace is that you are not backing up the native document format - you are saving (for example) a converted doc or xls copy.
I have tried a few different solutions and I am yet to find a solution to back up 'all files' in Google Workspace.

I no longer have on-prem servers, or any servers for that matter. I was a Veeam customer for many years and loved the product. There are NO GOOD backup solutions for Google Workspace, that is compared to what Veeam would do. I use Afi now, but it lacks MANY features that would be native to a Veeam product. Hoping this is the +1 that gets the ball rolling!

Would welcome a Veeam backup solution for Google Workspace. We also use a SaaS backup solution that is very lacking and would very much like an option to use Veeam as a backup/recovery solution for Google Workspace, which is our primary collaboration platform. We already use Veeam for our VMWare VDC for backup/recovery.

You are missing out on capturing the K12 sector by not offering a google workspace solution. I have already explained this to the local rep but it doesn't seem my voice is heard. Please reach out to me and I will explain my position.
