Feature Requests - KMIP Support
Hi Veeam Team,
I'm working for a company which develop Secrets management and Advanced Data Protection called Vault and we have more and more requests on KMIP support.
Something that we do since our version 1.2.0. unfortunately, Veeam doesn't provide KMIP integration.
Do you plan to have KMIP support on Veeam Backup & Replication ?

Re: Feature Requests - KMIP Support
Hello and welcome to the community Nicolas,
Can you please describe the use case in more details? Are you talking about offloading account/password management from Veeam B&R to the third party software and not to store any account related info in Veeam B&R? Thanks!

Hi Veeam team,
We are working with the KMS software as well, which us to manage the SSL key/cert that install/use on the application (Veeam). Since it does not support KMIP, may I know Veeam do support PKCS11 integration?
Thanks.

Hi Veeam team... hope you are listening
Integration with external KMS, whether via KMIP, REST API or PKCS11, is critical to regulated industries. Regulated industries are eliminating products that rely on a single privileged user entering a passphrase. I would like you to guys to remain relevant... the first one to market with the ability to handle vSphere encrypted VMs and KMS integration wins!
Rumors abound that others are sneaking ahead of you...

Re: Feature Requests - KMIP Support
Thanks for your feedback! We're rarely the first to market with integrations with specialized technologies relevant to specific industries... but this did not prevent us from winning the market so far because it's not tactical moves that win the long war, but sticking to the better overall strategy.
Having said that, KMIP integration has now made it to our short-term priorities list - albeit not to the very top of the list, because just as Joseph said, this is only relevant to specific industries.
Also, not to potentially confuse future readers who are not intimately familiar with the matter, Veeam already supports backup and restore of encrypted VMs from vSphere infrastructure that uses KMIP for many years now. This thread is talking about something different.

Hello, do we have any update on this request. A customer wants to integrate VBR with their Thales HSM solution via KMIP protocol
