Feature Requests: Time, status, scheduling and Endpoint

Post by dazza »

Hi

Thanks for such a great product. Always finding new ways to improve our backup regime with Veeam.

just a few suggestions that could be implemented perhaps.

Time stamps:
Show time stamps next to the duration field in the job progress window.

"Running" View:
show all fields when selecting "running" view
eg. last result, start time, end time, status reflecting the job status, not overall status

Job preference:
Option in VBR to specify finishing current job(and remaining VM's awaiting resources) over starting a new job

Veeam Endpoint:
central configuration depot in VBR for managing and changing endpoint backup settings.
target, scheduling, disable, force backup
perhaps even a remote deployment option

Hi Darren,

Thank you for your FR, much appreciated. Can you please tell us how many computers you would like to protect with VEB and then centrally manage it via Veeam B&R?

Thanks!

Hi

We currently have 2 using VEB but can foresee up to around 10-20 in a 400 user business.

Regards
Darren

Hmm... do you plan to protect Workstations or Servers? The reason I ask this is that central management for, lets say, 2 servers is not needed as job settings do not change much, however a decent monitoring console on the job status is definitely required.

Mostly workstations. These are workstations processing large GIS modelling data.

Although we do have some edge site external servers that we wish to use this method with also.

That's true. But sales reps really like that term "single pane of glass". :)

...single pane of glass will be Veeam backup server (reporting backup job state for virtual and physical computer backup). ;)
