Re: Features Request. Restore from on-premise to AWS EC2
Hello,
1. Just to clarify for new readers: private IPs are supported. They are assigned by AWS. I assume, that you want to set for example 192.168.14.7 /24 directly in the Veeam wizard
2. yes, makes sense, but can be solved relatively easy after restore
3. could we maybe get some more information about what you like to achieve here? Do you like to see something like pre- / post scripts that run inside the VM after restore? What is the goal here?
Thanks,
Hannes

Re: Features Request. Restore from on-premise to AWS EC2
Hello,
1. I can choose only subnet in Veeam Backup and Replication 11 wizard. I coudn't choose IP
2. Yes, I can add SG after restore but this is an additional manual work
3. Yes, I need post scripts that run inside the VM after restore. This is needed, for example, to fully adapt the VM to the cloud

Re: Features Request. Restore from on-premise to AWS EC2
Hello,
thanks, the requests make sense.
1. understood
2. understood
3. understood, but it's technically complicated. The on-prem backup server does not have a network connection to the restored VM (no public IP or even same subnet in AWS like on-prem). We would probably need the SSM agent inside the VM, which requires more IAM permissions and customers today already don't like how many permissions we require. I would say, that it's possible, but let's see how many other customers ask for that feature.
Best regards,
Hannes
