Feautre Request - SureBackup Multiple Testing Until Timeout

Post by andymack »

What I would like to see added to the SureBackup process is to have the availability scripts that run to check on the OS and/or applications be running regularly until the timeout period is reached (for example every 60 seconds).

When running a SureBackup job, I will regularly set the timeout values for the OS Boot time and/or Application Startup times much higher than the defaults that are given. Doing this helps to compensate for when additional tasks have to run upon restore such as Windows Updates. However this also drags out the amount of time that it takes to complete the job.

Secondly, when a SureBackup job fails having the timeouts set high allow time for troubleshooting. However, during that time you have only one chance to test to see if the problem is resolved. If you fail, the job fails and aborts. This would allow for multiple tries to get the problem corrected especially if it turns out to be multiple things causing the job to fail.

I hope this might be something that comes to light in a future release.
