Hi,
When attempting to do a file level restore from both windows and linux backed up VM's (ive tried both methods using the wizard, and normal file level restore of a windows server). Each time i try i get the following error:
Mount failed
Client error: bad open: Access is denied.
Cannot mount filesystem for the FSR restore. Full backup path: ["veeam backup path and file.vbk"]. Patches:[]. Extracted files:["a temp directory\diskname.vmdk].
Cannot start a file level restore.
We are running version 4.1.1, and vmplayer 2.5.4.
The server is running windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise (64-bit).
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Lloyd

Re: File Level Restore - Mount Failed
Lloyd, sounds like permission error to me. Check if the account you are using to open Veeam Backup shell is Local Administrator, and has read access to said VBK. If this looks good, please open support case for futher assistance (they would need full log files to troubleshoot this).

Re: File Level Restore - Mount Failed
Hi Gostev,
I thought this also, i have checked the permissions for the backup file, checked that the user is a local administrator, and checked the permissions in Veeam itself. I have also tried doing a restore as the user that the veeam service is set to run as with no success.
I shal contact support, thanks for your help.

Ah, indeed - I should have thought of antivirus w/realtime protection. Thanks very much for updating with the resolution!
