FileCopy is failing
Hello,
I searched through the manuals and didnt find anything on using this... probably cause its a what you see is what you get...however I have mapped drives to the computer I am using... and I keep getting an error, right out of the gates, that it cant find part of the path... I removed one of the paths and then another fails again they are mapped drives as I didnt see I could put a unc path into the job. I hope its just something I am doing wrong.
Anything you can do to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
thanks
Mike

Hello Mike,
Please try typing the UNC path like this \\servername\ or \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\ instead of selecting mapped drive as destination and re-run the job, should help!
Thank you!

Re: FileCopy is failing
I would love to do the UNC path... but when I am in the wizard it asks for me to browse to the directory...I browse the network and it will see the server but doesn't see all the drives or no drives... is there some other way to enter on the whole unc path..
And is there a way to tell it just to back up *.vbk files?

You don't need to use Browse, you should just type in the UNC path in the correponsing field.

Re: FileCopy is failing
OK... I am apparently not seeing what you see:
I select File Copy it brings up a window that says New File Copy Job
asks for a name and description I hit next
source comes up... it has a drop down under computer: I select "This computer or shared folder"
Then select Add...
when I do this it puts me in a Browse for Folder... it doesnt allow me to enter a UNC path...
What am I not doing that I should be doing so that I can?

Re: FileCopy is failing
I am very sorry, based on Vitaliy's reply I thought you are talking about VM copy job, but right now I realize you are describing File Copy job... unfortunately there is no workaround for the File Copy job. Jobs cannot copy to mapped drives because these are user mode settings, and file copy jobs do not provide way to type in the UNC path manually.

I had the same issue, what I did was: in the machine where the share folder resides, you also have to share the subfolders in order to get acces.
