FileLevelRestore in Stopping State - causes backups to fail
Hi,
We performed a FileLevelRestore yesterday for one of our file servers. Once the FileLevelRestore was complete and my colleague shut down the window for the FileLevelRestore, he believed that the restore job that was created for the purpose would be automatically completed but instead it was still in a Running state. We went through and right clicked on the FileLevelRestore job and clicked 'Stop Session' but since then the job has remained in a 'Stopping' state and has meant that the daily backups for this job have failed. The job has currently been sitting at the 'Stopping' state for around 12 hours.
Is there a way to force the FileLevelRestore job to stop and also to release the lock on the files so that we can perform the backups that are required?
Cheers
Chris

Re: FileLevelRestore in Stopping State - causes backups to f
Hi Chris,
What version of Veeam B&R are you using? Btw, please note that initiating File Level Restore for this VM again and properly finishing it will reset the VM status. If it doesn't help, please contact our support team for assistance directly.
Thank you.

Re: FileLevelRestore in Stopping State - causes backups to f
Hi,
We're running version 6.0.0.164. I just performed your suggestion of performing a file level restore again (this time I used a smaller VM from the same job) waited for the File window to appear, closed down the file window, checked the status of the restore job and it was 'Success'. Kicked off a retry of the backup job again and it is working as expected.
Thanks for your assistance
Chris

File Level Restore Job Hung in a Stopping State
[merged]
I have a file level restore job that is hung in a stopping state. I read another thread where that caused some issues with backups running while that job is in a stopping state. My backups have not run again since this issue but I have been able to run additional restore jobs off the same backup set with no issues. Is this going to be a problem? Is that job just going to be hung forever in a stopping state? I am running the latest version of Veeam.
Thanks
Mike

I was hoping to avoid that...nothing against your support, most forums don't start off with "Call support" kinda takes away from using forums
thanks anyway

This forums simply has a different purpose than typical support forum you'd come to expect from typical vendor.
The purpose of this forum is explained when you click New Topic (under Learn More), guess you simply missed that.
