first time setup - repository question/setup

Post by lemmy »

Hello,

im going over the documentation and some of the training material but i'm not 100% sure.

We have 2x esxi 5.1 environments. one is production, the other is to be our failover for a handfull of mission critical VMs.

I've setup my backup server and my 2 proxies (one at each site).

However, I'm not sure about the Backup repository and how to set it up?
* Do i need one @ each site
* Should it be at my production site or failover
* more importantly, do I need to install another server to act as my repository ?

Yes.

No, you can assign the role of backup repository to a source proxy. Actually, in case of replication, it’s recommended scenario.
