Force "Backup Copy" jobs

Post by mkub »

Hello! Is there any possibility to force specific backup copy jobs? We've a problem with the default priority mechanism because the backup copy is pending with 0% and starts just after every other normal backup job has finished (about 10am), because it's not getting a free slot on the repo. We are transferring data through WAN (500mbit/s) and the connection is idle during the whole night and is in use during the day while it should be free for customers. It would be really helpful if we can force some jobs through powershell or any other mechanism to ensure that the WAN line is used before normal backups have been finished!

Hi mkub,

Am I understand correctly that the issue is:
  • Primary jobs are running frequently to the repositories
  • Backup Copies start, but do not process any backups as they are waiting for a task slot from the repository (and this never happens because the primary jobs are always busy)?
Could you confirm that in the Job Statistics window it shows a message about waiting for "resource availability"?

Waiting for the details.
