Forever Forward Incremental Backup question.
Hello people.
I didn't quite understand this question from the link below.
If en does not select any type of full backup, V&B will back up the full first time and then only increment during the retention time and erase when the retention policy is activated and will no longer make full backups?

Hi Rafael!
Yes, your understanding is correct.
By the way, I'd suggest to take a look at this animated KB article which shows retention algorithms for different types of incremental chains.
Thanks!

Re: Forever Forward Incremental Backup question.
Hi PetrM
I had already seen this article.
I always used backups with full backups.
Now this way that it only makes the full backup for the first time and then only doing the incremental, I will be able to extend the retention more, because it always runs out of disk space when generating the full backup.
Just confirm me again, I will not need to do the full backup, I will do the first time and then only the incremental and erasing as retention.
Thanks.

Re: Forever Forward Incremental Backup question.
Yes, that's right. You will have just one full and a set of incremental backups.
The total number of restore points doesn't exceed the value specified at the level of retention policy settings.
Thanks!

You can also consider leveraging SureBackup for recoverability testing. Please see this thread for the discussion regarding the need for active full backups.
