Full backup no longer runs.

Dear All,

I have a weird issue here. Trying my luck here before opening a support case with Veeam.

Environment:
- VMware
- Storage: ExaGrid
- Monthly backup

As you can see from the screenshots above, for the first 5 months (Jan to May) full backup is performed, after which, only incremental backups are performed.
There are no changes made to the settings.

Why is this so? This is a monthly full backup job, it should be creating a full backup job monthly.

Hi Johnson,

I would say this is not normal and troubleshooting this through the forums will probably be impossible. Please create a support call and post the case ID here, and after investigation with our engineers let us know also

My daily job is also facing the same issue. It is supposed to do a weekly full but it is not.
It has been backing up as incremental.

Ill wait for support.

Ok issue resolved.
Basically, I have lots of backup jobs configured
Job1
Job2
Job3
...
Job10 (Problematic)


Job1 starts at 8PM
Job2 starts after Job1
Job3 starts after Job2
...
Job10 (Problematic) starts after Job9

Active full is configured on run on [Last Saturday].

When the time for Job10 starts, as it passes midnight, it falls on Sunday.
As such there is no full backup.

Solution:
- Schedule a fix timing on Saturday, in order for the (active full backup) to kick in on [Last Saturday]

One of the main reasons why job chaining is is not considered as best practice.
