Get encryption and cloud credentials

Post by matteu »

Hello,

I know there is a KB to find all accounts credentials stored in the database and their password but I don't find anything about encryption and cloud credentials.
What is the procedure to find both of them please ?

I find the encryption password on the table cryptokeys but I don't know where to unencrypt it.

Thanks

Hi matteu,

At this time we do not have a documented means for retrieving this information. If there is a need to ensure that backup files can be decrypted regardless, consider the Password Loss Protection for ensuring that such backups can be recovered from even if the decryption secret is lost.

Hello,

Thanks for your answer.
There is no documented way, but it's possible to have an unsupported way of doing it ?

I have sometimes customer without this password and when recovery is needed it's an issue :/

The situation is understood, but at this time it's as written above. I would advise consider for such clients using alternative means to protect the secrets; we added integration with Key Management Servers and as I get it, many have protections and backups for this very concern, and it's the safer bet long term.

Unfortunately this alternative méthod doesnt support configuration backup which is my main issue here :)

I would hope you have some unsupported powershell cmdlet to achieve it but if you can't provide it public I will have to wait maybe a future KB to know it. I don t have any solution to solve it when this issue occurs from now.
