Group Policy restore

Post by ferrus »

Is it possible to restore a copy of a group policy object? Or does anyone know of a workaround to achieve this?

The options that are available for GP objects, all seem to affect the live Group Policy. We'd like to restore a copy to work on/compare, and certain can't affect live services.
I've tried the export option, but that appears to export an ldf file, rather than settings that can be imported to a separate GPO.

Currently only export to LDF file is available. But you can use some other (test) server to restore the object to for further operations.
