Guest File Index ith bad Catalog folder

Post by djf29 »

I was trying to do a file search in Enterprise Manager, probably the first time we've used this feature, and I get an error that says "Catalog folder has an invalid structure...". It gives the full path of the folder, I check it out, and it's empty. When I look at the other servers, they all have at least a GuestIndexData.tar.gz file, and sometimes a blkid.txt, mlocate._.db, and summary.txt. Is there any way to "reset" that particular server? It's fine if we have to lose the existing indexing, I just wanna be able to use this feature since it seems really useful.

Hello David

You could delete the affected machine from the \VBRCatalog\Index\Machines folder on the enterprise manager. This removes all indexes of a single machine. If it happens again, I recommend to open a case with our customer support team.
