Re: Guest VM halts during replication snapshot

The best thing I think in this case is to open a case with support so that they can analyse the failed jobs log.

[MERGED] Application aware processing

Post by marius roma »

A Windows Server VM is a file server, a Remote desktop server and a SQL server.
The backup is configured for application aware processing and is scheduled to run during the night.
Is there any problem if - once - the backup is started during the day while users work?
Can the backup process create any problem to users and/or data?
I whould say "not", I would say that the VM can just slow down a little bit, but I prefer to ask experts...

There might be some issues (discussed in this thread), but generally this also depend on how active your servers are and what kind of storage you're using to host these VMs.

[MERGED] Replication causes freezes

Post by ravelin »

Hi
I have a replication setup with primary site being IBM DS3524, and other end a normal server with internal disks.
However, everytime I start the replication jobs, I get hanging terminal service sessions. I even get disconneted from SQL servers on long queries.
