This is certainly a question that has been discussed here before. But can someone explain to me why Hardened Repository in Backup Proxy can only be used in ‘Network’ transport mode?
This results in a complete loss of performance in some setups.
For example, we have now changed the basis for Veeam backups from Windows to Debian at another location abroad. The DL380 server is equipped with: 1 plug-in card with 16Gb HBA FC / 1 plug-in card with 10 Gb FC and 4 onboard Gigabit interfaces. The HBA card is wired directly to the MSA. The second FC card with 10 Gb would go in the direction of the network switch. However, there is no corresponding FC switch on site, which means that only 4* copper cables are plugged in via teaming.
Ingeniously, I cannot use directly attached connection if I want a hardened repository. Unlucky, is all I can say. Is a corresponding adaptation planned here?
