Hi Team,
We have created a Linux server with SSO in order to create a Hardened repository from the disks attached to it. But would like to offload proxy role of this server to reduce some load or we have a powerful hardware on which Windows OS installed and wanted to make use of this server. I have added this mentioned Windows Server as a proxy server.
Post configuring the Hardened repository, when I go to the proxy affinity I don't see the newly added Windows proxy server listing.
Here are my questions.
1) need to understand if assigning a windows proxy for a linux repository is possible as per design, provided we use different credentials on the windows and linux servers.
2) If possible, how the communication between the proxy server and the repository happens ? When transferring data from proxy to repository will it use the credential configured for the proxy server to write the data or data transfers between the servers through the ports configured for the service and the repository server will just write with its credentials to the mount point from where the repo is created.

Re: Hardened repository with Windows proxy
Hi rajesh.r,
1. Proxy affinity does not have such a limitation, just checked on v12.3.2; what type of proxy is the Windows server showing as in Backup Infrastructure > Backup Proxies?
2. Communication between infrastructure components is done through the Veeam Data Mover Service. The services will handle the connection rather than needing to log onto the servers themselves
