Through the iSCSI initiator in Server 2012, a 10gb connection was setup from the physical server Veeam installed on to our SAN (Dell Equalogic). The LUN being used shows up in My Computer/Disk Management just fine. In Veeam I changed the backup proxy's transport mode to Direct SAN access. The "connected databases" option is set to automatic detection. Curiously, if I try to manually select the LUN in the list there, I don't see it.

So according to those links, direct iSCSI traffic to a SAN is simple to set up and I seem to have most of those steps done already. For the backup job I made to set the backup proxy to the backup proxy configured above. What could I be missing? I'm only seeing the same speeds as before which amount to about 30mb/s.

Re: Have To Be Missing Something With iSCSI/SAN Setup
Hello,
Can you please tell me what backup mode is actually used for VMs processing? You can review that in the job session details, check for [nbd], [san] tags next to the assigned proxy server name.
Thanks!
