Hello my Veeam backup 4.0 had been working fine for 30+ days and now when I went to open it today to restore a file I get the following error message pop up:
The type initialozer for 'Veeam.Backup.DBManager.MainDs' threw an exception.
Configuration system failed ot initalize
Root element is missing. (C:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\application data\veeam_software\veeam.backup.shell.exe_Url_5n5msbmzpxzk2bosrjjphdqtavmpm2jv\4.0.0\user.config)
Root elemt is missing.
Can somone please help me with this issue... I need to restore a backup and I also need my backups to run tonight... ( I dont want to lose my backups)
what should I do?

Just reinstall it. The installer will use existent db with all your config.
Further, you can install another veeam backup anywhere just for recovery purpose, without needing additional licence.

Hello Larry,
You can remove that user.config file, it won't affect your configuration, later this file will be re-generated when you launch the Backup and Replication console.
