**Help required** - Report on Missing backup files

Post by Iain_Green »

Hi,

I am looking for assistance in pulling some info out either via Veeam One, Powershell or a SQL query.

I have REPO that is now offline, which is affecting a number of backups. I need a list of backup files held on it and any other info I can get associated with those files (date created, size, etc, etc).
I was hoping to run an Archive report (as most of the files are archive points) then run a DIR output to cross-reference.

DIR output is not an option though!

Looking through Veeam One does not appear to provide the info. Currently other than going through the properties of each backup and checking which ones are grey out and writing them down, I can't find another way to get the info.

I am hoping some (Veeam?) may have an idea of a SQL query or powercli command(s) I could perform that will provide an output for me?
Many thanks

Hello Ian,

I think the best option is to open a case.
If Veeam knows that the Repo is offline, then it knows what backups are offline, I am pretty sure veeam support can help you.

Have you checked Veeam Backup Files Growth report?
It provides some visibility over backups kept on repositories.
However, creating a new report showing files on particular repository is a good idea.
Besides date created and size, what else would you like to see in such a report?
Thanks!

Thanks will take a look.

I have spent the afternoon looking at the output provided by Veeam support of the SQL report query they provided.
Then I used the Backup Copy Job GFS Backup FIles. To cross-reference the output.

Ideally, if this report gave you an option to select a repository and/or a backup it would have been perfect!
Many thanks

Got it.
SQL query is a temporary workaround as SQL tables structure is a subject to change.
We will work on the report though.
Thanks!
