High traffic between main site and remote proxy
Hi,
We have veeamb&r.
We have 1 main site with the main installation of B&R.
Other istesare connected thru vpn and hav also a backup proxy and repository onsite.
From the main site we made replication jobs.
Under the data transfer tape for the jobs we have the remote proxy set as source and destination.
Is it normal we have lik 8 to 10 GB data ?
since all data is saved on a nas in the remote site that seems verry weird?
Any thoughts ?
Thanks

Re: High traffic between main site and remote proxy
Have you checked that the remote proxy is effectively selected both as source and target during the job (you can check it in the job session log)? Also, what repository is selected for storing replica metadata, is it the remote one?

Hi,
Yes both source and target proxys are in the remote site.
The repository for metadata is in the remote site.
Regards,
David

Re: High traffic between main site and remote proxy
Maybe to be clear.
We do not replicate from the remote site to the main site.
We have 2 esx server in the remote sites and we replicate the vms between the esx servers remote.
So only thing the main site does is give the command normally.
Maybe this wasnt clear.
Thanks for the reply.

In this case traffic between sites shouldn't be huge. I suggest asking support for a closer look.

Re: High traffic between main site and remote proxy
Hey David,
Any chance that the gateway on the NAS is set to automatic or is it set to a proxy on the remote site? We had this issue before where Veeam kept using itself as the gateway for a Remote NAS. Setting the gateway manually helped us out. You might need to manually select the gateway.
