How can I delete redo logs immediately after "Oracle Redo Log Backup?
Hello
We created a backup job with "application-aware processing", but with this settings the redo logs where only deleted once a day after the instance backup. How can we configure Veeam or Oracle to delete files immediately after backup? I don't think we're the only ones who want to do that.
Veeam 10
Oracle 12.1, 18c and 19c
Kind regards
Heyko

Hello Heyko,
Did you try to configure logs backup interval and retention policy at this step of guest processing configuration?
Alternatively, you may use Veeam plug-in for Oracle RMAN to get more flexibility for Oracle database backups and to process archived redo logs with RMAN.
There is a possibility to configure archived logs retention or for example to use DELETE INPUT clause to delete archived logs right after backup.
Thanks!

Hi
the log cleaning/purging is only done after the parent job run. So to enable a more frequent log deletion you need to run your parent job more often. eg: instead of each night change it to every 12h or every 8h.

Hi Heyko,
just send me a personal notice and we can jump in to activate SAP BR*Tools with RMAN in your environment.
Thanks
