How do I start the backup chain over without removing old...

I have a daily backup job that does a forever-forward incremental and has several restore points at this time but I want to essentially restart the job chain from restore point #1 without removing the old backups. Can I just rename the job's root folder on the backup repository and Veeam will be smart enough to start the job chain over with restore point #1 and consider the renamed folder imported backups?

Hi Ryan,

You can use Remove from Configuration to delete those a few restore points from the configuration database, in order to import them later. Thanks!

Or run an active full backup?

If you initiate an Active Full, the previous backup chain will be deleted, according to the retention policy settings.
For example, you set retention to keep 7 RPs and now you have 3 RPs, these restore points will be removed when the new backup chain will reach 7 RPs. Thanks

I like the remove from configuration method better, that way I can be sure the new tape job I'm about to start up isn't going to upload a bunch of old stuff.
