How to automatically exclude VMs from consuming an instance?
We're new to VUL, and one of the things I noticed was that VMs in our "do not backup" folder in vsphere were still consuming licenses. How do we configure Veeam so that it ignores any VM in that directory for licensing purposes? For backup purposes we already have an exclusion against it from our main backup job - that part was easy. Now trying to figure out how to keep those items which are typically test or scratch VMs from costing us money on licensing or forcing someone to manually go scrape them out of the license module.

Re: How to automatically exclude VMs from consuming an instance?
Hi Mike
Excluded VMs do not consume VUL instances.
But if a backup or replica was created in the last 31 days for excluded VMs, then a VUL is still consumed. After 31 days, the VUL instance is automatically released.
Best,
Fabian
