How to copy all restore points in copy job ?

Post by cybava »

Hi,

I use Veeam V8 on a physical server on a datacenter and i have somes backups jobs (daily, weekly, monthly) with disk storage
My jobs was on reverse incremental and i juste changed it for incremental
I would like to have an exact copy of my backups on an other site.
I try to setup a copy job but it copy only the last increment.

Example:

I have a monthly job for my file server with 24 retention points. So i have 2 years backup.
When i use the copy job, it only copy the last retention point, so i need 24 cycle of copy job to have the same things on the 2 sides
IS there a way to copy all old retention point with the copy job ?

Thanks !

Backup copy job doesn't t copy backup chain as a whole, but rather synthetically creates required restore points in "target" location from VM data in source backup repositories. So, it means that a newly created backup copy job won't re-create the whole backup chain. Instead, it will synthetically create one restore point containing the latest state of the chosen source.

However, if the forward incremental mode is used, you can manually copy those files to remote location and map a backup copy job to it afterwards. Starting from that moment, the backup copy job will keep adding increments to the chain.

Thanks.

The backup copy job can be only mapped to forward incremental chain created either by backup or backup copy job. Thanks.
