How to determine which transport mode was used?

Post by cffit »

I'm trying to get Direct SAN transport mode to work, but I can't find where to tell what tranport mode a backup job used? When I go into the properties of my Backup Proxy, and I go to specify the datastores, it does not list the one I just created. I see it says that it scans periodically for new stores. When does it do this and is there a manual way to kick off?

Figured it out. Either during or after the job runs, under Jobs you have to click on the vm name on the left column and it will show you more info on the right. It will show nbd for network backup and san for direct san backup. In order to refresh the datastores that VEEAM sees, I had to right click on our vCenter server (in VEEAM backup) and click Properties, then just click finish. That refreshes the info that VEEAM sees from vCenter.
