How to restore configuration backup to another server?

HI All,

We are planning to upgrade our backup server from Window 2k12 to 2k16 server.
I have deployed Windows 2k16 server.
I have configuration backups for backup server (Windows 2k12 Server).
I am planning to restore Veeam B&R application to new Windows 2k16 server.
In this scenario, do we need to install veeam B&R on new server??

Will it be in-place upgrade? If so, then, you won't even need to restore configuration. Thanks!

Both are different servers. Do I need to install B&R on new server(2016 server)??

In this case, yes. Also, you will need to move backup data to new server, if you were using local storage on your previous backup server. Thanks!

Able to restore VBR with all settings to New 2016 server.
