How to restore - it just sits there...?
I'm running the latest Veeam Backup & Replication Free version with update 2. I want to restore files from a VM I backed up. I open the backup file (Some machine022016-08-05T011958.vbk) from the Windows Explorer and go through a few steps and it ends up on this "Completing the File Level Restore Wizard..." and just sits there. Why? Is it suppose to do something? I mean I leave it for like 10 minutes and it does nothing. All I can do is go Back.
I'm in an RDP session if it matters, and notice the text is cut off in the Window.
What do I have to do to do a file level restore here of individual files? From a Linux VM.
Thanks. I put some screenshots here, step 4 is the problem..

Did you configure the virtual appliance to run? I guess that one isn't configured correctly. Have a look at our userguide for some more information with screenshots.

Thanks, but I don't have that "Backup & Replication" in the margin (inventory pane) of my free version. I can't click Restore guest files -> Linux and other because its not listed anywhere.
What I see, this is the latest version with update 2:

I now have the full version of B&R 9. It still sits there. I do not see Step 5 from the user guide at https://helpcenter.veeam.com/evaluation ... linux.html
It just stops at step 4 and its there. What am I missing? WHy does it just sit here?
???

Best would be to contact support as it looks like it isn't loading correctly.

Re: How to restore - it just sits there...?
actually I figured it out. I have to hit enter when the dialog is showing. its the extremely buggy and poor quality interface that is the problem. The next/finish buttons are greyed out for some reason. but hitting enter works and brings up Step 5 finally. the UI is riddled with design flaws. DPI scaling, RDP sessions that are not very high (less then 950px) won't allow the Help menu to show if scaling is enabled, etc.

Rdp sessions are based on your resolution settings normally. DPI scaling is something planned and being worked on. However the gui issue you are seeing is something I can't simulate directly.

Now I get this error when trying to restore:
"Failed to mount a restore point. Cannot retrieve mount result. Linux FLR appliance deploy failed".
How can I fix this? I've never seen something so difficult to use.

I suggest you contact support as normally you need to configure the linux appliance and it will work. Support will be able to help with this gui issue to clear up everything.

Non-standard DPI is simply not supported, as per the release documentation. Obviously, you can expect to see many "design flaws" with any software at all when using one in an unsupported configurationkenw232 wrote:the UI is riddled with design flaws. From the error, it looks like you simply did not configure the FLR helper appliance settings correctly, and so the appliance fails to start up or initialize. Check out the User Guide, or just contact support for assistance. They will be happy to assist you!kenw232 wrote:Now I get this error when trying to restore:
