How to updatede from v7.0.0.690 to v7.0.0.839
Hi
I am going to update Veeam backup and replication from v7.0.0.690 to v7.0.0.839, I have few queries as I am working on veeam first time.
1) Are there any patches between 7.x.x.690 to 7.x.x.839 which needs to be applied sequentially?
2) Is there any known issue in this patch reported in vSphere, I am using vSphere 5.0 and I found a forum reporting issuein Hyper V.
3) When I checking version of current installed Veeam B&R by Home>Help>About >>>>>>> its showing v7.0.0.839 but when I go to Intalled programs its showing v7.0.0.690.
Note : Veeam Backup Transport and vPowerNFS is also installed with version 7.0.0.839. Is it thats why its showing 839 version?
Please help!

Hi Vijay,
1. All updates are cumulative, meaning that you can run the latest patch and you will get all the fixed and updates included to previous patches automatically. The upgrade procedure is described in the release notes document. Please take a look.
2. Can you please clarify your questions, as I do not fully understand what issue you're referring to.
3. I will double-check that with the setup guys and will let you know.
Yes, all components should also be updated by the patch.
Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy
I was searching if any customer reported any issue after 7.0.0.839 patch, and I found this http://www.veeam.com/kb1863 in Hyper-V.
So my query in point 2. was is there any issue reported by anyone in vsphere? like above one?

If you're talking about Veeam B&R issues reported by users who are running on patch 3 in vSphere environments, then currently there is no such a list. The list of all the fixed issues will be available with the release of the next patch.

"About" shows version of .exe file, meanwhile, "installed programs" version of installer file. So, you should rely on information shown in the backup console. Thanks. When I checking version of current installed Veeam B&R by Home>Help>About >>>>>>> its showing v7.0.0.839 but when I go to Installed programs its showing v7.0.0.690.

Hi Eremin
I just installed Patch 3 for Veeam Backup & Replication. As mentioned in KB I rebooted server firstly then stopped all services > install patch > resume services. But when I open console it didnt ask update components.
For your information : Before patch upgrade, version in console> help > about was 7.0.0.839 and in Program and Features version was showing 7.0.0.690. After installing this patch..there is no change in versions....same.
Means, this patch was already installed?
If Yes, then why other two components are showing version 7.0.0.839? Right now program and features showing :
Veeam Backup & replication 7.0.0.690
Veeam Backup Transport 7.0.0.839
Veeam Backup vPowersNFS 7.0.0.839
2nd and 3rd one was shwoing 839 even before patch installation.

Most likely, you've had 839 already installed. I believe the discrepancy comes from the fact that patch doesn't update installer service, it only updates components, such transport, vPowerNFS, etc. Thanks.

So How can I confirm patch is installed successfully, nothing change everything is same as was before patch installation. It didn't run component update wizard when I opened console after patch installation.

As mentioned, the "About" tab shows the up-to-date information regarding the product version. So How can I confirm patch is installed successfully, nothing change everything is same as was before patch installation.
I believe you'd had the latest patch already installed at that moment. Thus, components weren't updated, as were already up-to-date.It didn't run component update wizard when I opened console after patch installation.

Is any way there to update installer service which should reflect version in Program and features? How to correct this, not big deal as I know this is updated but it will show same even installing next release patches.

Program and Features already reflects the correct version of installer, since the patches typically don't touch the installer at all. Thanks.
