HPE StoreOnce and Encryption

Post by bdietl »

Hi all, we have a StoreOnce wirth some Catalyst Stores for our VM and Filebackups.
As per request from our Management, we should use Backup-Encryption for both VM- and Filebackups.
However, i know Encryption has negative effects to deduplicating Storage like the StoreOnce, but i dont know, what that means in Numbers.
Ok., hopefully some of you has practical experience and can tell me, if it makes sense, to use Encryption on deduplicating storage.

Hi Bernd, are you talking about Veeam B&R inline encryption or hardware encryption on the array itself? Some hints here.

Thanks for the hints, now its clear, we have to use StoreOnce Dedup rather than inline encryption from Veeam B&R
