I want to make a backup every Saturday of the month

Hi,

i will use a backup agent and vmware to protect some virtual machines.

But I want to save it only once a week.

Can I create a JOB and choose to run it every Saturday and save 5 days or 5 recovery points?

I want an infinite incremental backup type that is possible for both the agent and the VMware level backup.

it depends what you want to achieve... I guess that you want 5 weeks (35 days)... so 5 restore points is probably meeting your intention better than only 5 days.

If I leave this option checked (Synthetic full backup - Create sybthetic full backups periodically) to run on Saturdays, will my backup be considered infinite incremental?

yep, that way my guess... 5 restore points is what you are asking for.

synthetic fulls make no sense for me. by doing that, you will have 5 fulls instead of 1 full and 4 increments. I mean, with REFS it does not hurt https://www.veeam.com/blog/advanced-ref ... suite.html, but it makes no sense for me.

from a backup perspective yes. it's forever incremental (I guess that's what you mean with "infinite incremental") as long as you don't check the "active full" checkbox.
