if a full (initial) backup fails, what happens to the failed backup data?
Lets say a machine retries a brand new initial full X times in a row (this is happening where I work for reasons), because they don't leave it connected long enough. I know it can't continue from where it left off, so... (feature request? : ) Is it just erased? I don't see any sign of 'orphans' or odd chains for the user machine in Disk.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi.
That's correct, unfinished backup will be cleaned up, for no leftovers to remain on disk and within Veeam database.

Might this be a feasible feature request? Or an option you could turn on (eg "continue to back up failed fulls on reconnect to network, if data integrity is valid" or something).

Totally.
You are not the first here, and we have it on track already.
Added your +1.

thanks much! one more q about feature request: is there some reason there is not a specific forum/thread for feature requests, where people could vote on approved requests? Seems like that could save Veeam support folks some time. : )

These are R&D Forums and it acts as a direct line to Product Management.
We love to hear feedback directly, discuss details and collect each request in person.
There are threads with common requests, where people bump "+1" as a "vote up" practice and we keep an eye on all of them.
