Immediate Copy Mode: Where is the merge??

Post by mkretzer »

Case: 04061626

We tried using immediate copy mode and are confused that the merge (even GFS creation) is not showing in the job log. It seems to work but since we test this on XFS we want to know how long the merge takes... Is that normal for that mode?

Hi Mkretzer,

Immediate copy job sessions (restore point transfer of a particular backup job) should be shown on the history tab, last 24 hours. Double click a session and check the UI log. Could you please check if there is an indication of the merge process?

Thanks

Also, make sure the merge should actually happen, i.e. the number of restore points in the chain has already reached the specified retention setting.

Due to differences in job architecture, for an immediate copy mode, this data should be logged per task instead of being logged in the general job session log. For some reason this doesn't happen, we're investigating the reasons.
