hello everyone
I have a total of 50 TB of data per full backup, and I am considering the storage capacity required for purchasing new storage at the remote site for off-site backup copies.
If I use the Veeam WAN acceleration for backup copy to a remote site. Can I utilize the immutable repository along with fast clone to optimize storage space by leveraging the spaceless full backup feature offered by fast clone? e.g. Just buy 200 TB storage to save unlimited copy of full backup for my data?
P.S. incremental backup size is very small.
Thanks

Re: Immutable Backup Repo and Fast Clone
Hello cmklo
Yes, you can.
Make sure to deploy the hardened repository with xfs volumes:

How much storage you need can be estimated with our calculator: https://calculator.veeam.com/vbr/
I recommend to add enough space to store multiple active fulls. In situations with backup chain issues, active full may become necessary.
Best,
Fabian
