Imoprt and then forward incremental Veeam 8

Post by Sarek70 »

I have a cutomer who has a remote office which has a connection to the head office. But the line between the 2 locations is to small to make a full backup of the file server on the remote location. Now he wants to make a full backup localy on the remote location on USB disk and then import it into the Veeam Backup server on a seperate repository. From then on he want to make a forward incremental backup, so only changed blocks are move over the small network line. I think this is possible but wat are the steps to accomplish this?

do a full backup to your USB repository, move files from USB to your destination server, once it's in a repository, you can just change the target of your job to this new location and it will see the files are already there and just start using them.

You would need to rescan the remote repository and map the job to existing backup file.
