Impact of Encryption on Deduplicating SQL Server Backups
I am working with a client who is wanting to implement TDE (Transparent Data Encryption) in SQL Server for encryption at rest. They are using Veeam Backup with De-Duplication. I know TDE definitely increases the size of native SQL backups - but wondered if there were any White Papers/metrics on what storage impact this could introduce within the De-Dup functionality of Veeam.

Hi Pablo, in-guest encryption will inflate the backups regardless of Veeam B&R inline deduplication, since it operates pretty large blocks comparing to dedupe appliances.
