Importing Backups - Backup Already Exists
Hello,
I have multiple backup servers 1 to 4, which are also NAS storage servers for the backup; and also the backup jobs running on those servers.
So my objective here is to migrate ONLY one particular backup job from Server 4 to 3.
The existing repo is on Server 3.
I've created new repo on Server 3 that link it to the existing backup chains folder, and re-scanned the repo.
Disk(Imported) appeared and when I was trying to Import the backups, it showed "Backup already exists"
I don't know what does it mean, since I don't have backup job on server 3, but it is on server 4.
I thought If the importing is working, I can create new backup job and map it to this repo.
So I've deleted that backup job on server 4 and removed the configuration under Disk section. But it didn't help too.
There aren't any KB or article on Internet that able to solve this issue, so that I came here for help.
Thank you.

Rescan must have imported all existing backups. That's why you tried to import some backups second time, it failed. Thanks!I've created new repo on Server 3 that link it to the existing backup chains folder, and re-scanned the repo.

Thanks, but i don't quite understand your statement.
What is the step by step to do so that it's able to fulfill my objective?

Re: Importing Backups - Backup Already Exists
So,
- you have server 3 and server 4
- you added repository from server 3 to server 4
- you re-scanned the repository on server 4
- all backup residing on this repository were imported to server 4
- you tried to import already imported backup to server 4
- import process failed
If you want to migrate (do you mean import backup or you want to continue this job on server 4), then, you need to remove all currently imported backups from configuration and import only backup from particular job.
If this doesn't work, then, reach our support team.
Thanks!

Re: Importing Backups - Backup Already Exists
Thanks for the input.
I neee to migrate just ONE specific backup job from server 4 to server 3.
I want this backup job be running on server 3 not server 4.
I added repo on server 3, and rescan on server 3.
I have removed backup job and disk configuration on server 4. But I haven't remove the repo on server 4 yet.

Re: Importing Backups - Backup Already Exists
In this case the best approach will be to:
- Remove backup of this job from configuration on Server 4
- Create additional folder
- Move backup of this particular job there
- Add this folder as repository on Server 3
This way backup server will have independent repositories that won't intersect anyhow.
Thanks!
