Incremental Backup Issue..
Hi:
I have a server with Veeam Backup 8.0.0.917 and other 2 servers with Hyper-V (all servers with Windows 2012 R2 Std), copying 12 VM (windows VM) every night without errors.
But with one of those VM when we try to restore a single file, we choose the restore point of "September 3" (incremental copy), the file restored is from "May 30" (the last full backup), we have restored the full VHD and the files are from "May 30"
All the VM have the same copy configuration and the files are correct.
All VM have a full backup (May 30) and incremental copy every day (restore points to keep on disk :15)
Waht´s happening with this VM?

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
How do you tell the files are still dated by May, 30? By their contents? What about other VMs? Is this behavior consistent or observed just on this very VM?

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
The content of the file is from May,30.
I look for a new file, but the file dont exists in the backup
The others VM backups are OK, this only happen with one VM...

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
Just additional verification - what if you execute an Instant VM Recovery from the required point? Will the content of VM be still dated May, 30? Does the backup session for a particular date show anything specific?

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
Yesterday 18:30 we did a full backup, when this full backup finish, we create somo text files on VM, later automatically ( 05:00 am this morning) an incremental backup.
Now I have executed and Instant VM Recovery (selecting today 5:00 am) but those new files are missing, and we try to restore like single files, but those files dont appear, this Instant VM recovery is from las full backup (yesterday 18:30)..
Now we are going to configure another backup task with this VM

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
Is it just a file that is missing or, say, the whole volume/disk? May be it just happens to reside on disk of unsupported type, such as one connected via ISCSI or mapped drive, etc.?

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
The disk is ok, but the files are missing ¿?¿?
The VM has 2 .vhdx (100 Gb and 200 Gb disk), the full copy about 50 minutes, but differential copy only 2 minutes, with these numbers:
Data:
Processed 300,0 Gb (100%)
Read 0,0 KB
Trasferred 0,1KB (0x)
Status
Success 1
Warnings 0
Errors 0
I have updated Veeam Backup to version 8.0.0.2030 and restarted the server.

Re: Incremental Backup Issue..
Meaningless numbers in case VM is running. Something is definitely wrong here, so support should be involved.
