we have a new customer which had already installed Veeam7, and i am looking at his infrastructure now. I don't understand a configuration which the former IT-Supporter had configured on a backup-job.
It is a forward incremental, and synthetic full is enabled (saturday). On the same job is also "active full backup" - weekly on Saturday activated. That does not make sense for me. Is it correct, that i "normally" choose not the same period / day for the active full. I.e. i would set synth. full every week Saturday, and active full 1x each month or what the client need. But in his configuration, the synt. full is overwritten with a active full every Saturday ??
Bruno, you're correct, such setup does not make sense. If both active and synthetic fulls are scheduled to be performed on the same day, only active full will be performed. Please review the following recommendations for full backup frequency.
