Independent Disks

How does Veeam handle independent disks on replication jobs? We are looking at replicating our Exchange Mailbox server and one of our SQL servers to our DR site and just wanted to know before we did this.

Hello Dale,

Independent disks are not supported for backup and replication jobs as per Release Notes. Those disks are automatically excluded from snapshotting. You need to change VM disk type to be able to replicate it.

Independent-persistent discs functionality was designed by VMware specifically to provide easy way of excluding a disk from snapshot (thus the name - independent).
