Initial cloud backup copy interval expired - no full backup?
Our initial cloud copy job exceeded the 7 day copy interval and as such the status the VMs for the backup show with a warning.
Will this mean that there is no full cloud backup for those VMs?
For those VMs, if we go to Restore VM on the cloud backup, the only available restore point is an Incremental one.
Subsequent backups have completed successfully so does this mean that we could restore a full backup of the VM even though on the restore page it is showing as Incremental?

Not sure how the initial restore point can be marked as incremental backup, aren't you talking about incomplete mark? If not, can you post some screenshots that can clarify the situation.
Anyway, since the subsequent job runs finished successfully, you should be able to restore from both initial and following restore points, because backup copy job has managed to transferred data that it was not able to transfer initially (that's how backup copy job approaches incomplete restore points).
Thanks!

Looks strange, might be simply a UI bug, but I would still reach our support team to confirm it. Thanks!

Re: Initial cloud backup copy interval expired - no full backup?
Seems normal to me.
If the Full Backup Copy doesn't complete, it is an incomplete restore point (that cannot be used/selected as a restore point.) The next restore point that is created successfully would be the one that can be selected, and yes that could be an incremental point. This incremental includes the blocks that were incomplete in the full. (missing blocks + changed blocks.)

Thanks both.
My understanding (also based on the fact that when the initial backup failed it said that it would continue on the next run) is that the backup which is showing is a full backup i.e. we would be able to restore the whole VM if necessary.

Re: Initial cloud backup copy interval expired - no full backup?
I've clarified the situation a bit - even though the subsequent restore point contains the data missing in the original full backup, it doesn't make original full backup a complete restore point.
So, yes, you will be able to restore a whole VM, but only to the state captured in the incremental restore point.
Sorry, if my original answer has caused a certain confusion.
Thanks!
