Installed wrong license file on setup, now I'm stuck
I just reinstalled a Veeam B&R server from scratch, latest version, 11.0.1.1261.
During the installation I mistakenly pointed it at a license file with an older support expiration date.
The installation wen uneventfully, but now when I start the console a popup appears saying "You are not eligible to install this product version, because it was shipped after the support expiration date in the provided license file".
Clicking Ok on the dialog, the shell closes altogether.
I did not check the license file before pointing to it during the installation. My bad. I have the correct license file available, but how can I install it now? Do I really have to uninstall all the Veeam components and reinstall them from the beginning? I would really want not to, since installation takes a long time.

Hi Lucio
Try to remove the license with the command line. The veeam installation will be reverted back to a community edition.
After the removal, open the console again and install the correct license. If that‘s not working, veeam support will surely be able to help you.

Code: Select all
cd C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup
Veeam.Backup.Manager.exe -removelicense

Thank you Mildur. I tried that, but unfortunately it's not working.

Your welcome.
Too bad, it did‘t worked.
Can you try the powershell command for installing a new license? Or does the powershell commands doesn‘t work in this state?
If they do not work, a support case (or uninstall and install it again with a new database) would be the best way to go forward.

Another thing to try is deleting registry path "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\license" completely.
Back it up before deletion, just in case(right click > Export).
/Cheers!

@Egor, tried that as well, but it didn't work.
@Mildur, the powershell command worked! Thank you very much. I wasn't aware of that possibility.
