Is it OK to add a replica-target VM into a backup job?
Hi.
Tried to search through topics here but couldn't hit anything concrete, the keywords are unfortunately a bit too generic.
I have a replication job from Site A to Site B.
I have currently the replica in Site B running (via Planned Failover), and it will be running for a couple of days before planned failback (with full data sync back to Site A).
Is it safe to put the currently running "VMName_replica" object from Site B into a backup job so the data is protected in the meantime?
Thanks!

Hello, I think there is no problem, but wait for further comments to confirm.

Hello,
@wku
Yes, you can back up this VM, but CBT will be disabled.
Thanks!

Good afternoon!
And well, very good to know, thank you - this one indeed is on vSphere.
And lack of CBT shouldn't be that much of a problem, the storage arrays feel very bored most of the time.
However, with the way you asked I suspect this answer will differ for other platforms, and I will have similar "fail to replica for a week or two" renovation situation next quarter on a site which was already migrated to Hyper-V.
How much trouble should I expect there, then?

I checked it literally 10 mins after I made the previous post
The answer is relevant to Hyper-V as well: you should not expect any issues.
Thanks!

Thanks!
