Is it possible to proxy backup-copy jobs?

Post by prewest »

Hi all,

I have a question, we have the following scenario;
Image
We use the latest version V11.
I would like to make a backup copy of a job thats stored on the linux server that is connected with the veeam server via Linux Server (SSH).
The linux repository is in an lockeddown VLAN with no internet, is it possible to proxy the backup copy job traffic via the Veeam Backup server?

Hi Arnold

The backup copy architecture is documented in our guide. You can use a WAN Accelerator to proxy the backup copy jobs through a specific machine.
If you don't have a WAN Accelerator in place, then it's always a direct copy between the source repository and the target repository.

May I ask, is the "Cloud Provider" a Veeam Cloud Connect Provider? If yes, the only port you need to open is 6180 to a few specific IP-Addresses. All other ports can be closed on the firewall to the internet.

Thanks
