Hi,
I noticed that in SQL Management studio i could see the Veeam SQL backups when I tried to restore from a point in time.
However, if I select one of these backuppoints (as opposed to the Management studio-backups), it would fail with an error, saying that the file cannot be found.
I suppose that the Veeam backuppoints show up because Veeam uses VSS to backup, and this somehow gets registrered with Studio, but when Veeam is finished with the backup, the snapshot is closed, and no longer accessible. Studio however does not remove it as a point in the timeline.
Is there a way to get Studio to access the Veeam backups in another way?

Re: Is it possible to use SQL Management studio to restore?
Hi Anders,
If you want to use SQL Management studio to do the restore, then you need to manage transaction logs natively within the app. In other words, do backups locally, back up the entire VM and upon the restore process launch SQL Management studio to do all the job.
Thanks!
