If I do incremental backups every 4 hours vs once per day, will it end up using more space due to overhead, or does it actually only store the changed blocks?
I want to do it more frequently because VBR is so slow in our environment that it takes a long time to complete when there are more changes. I'm coming from Microsoft DPM, which did synchronization runs every 15 minutes.

Re: Is there extra storage overhead for incremental backups?
Hi Daniel, you can use this tool for space estimations. Basically, only changes will be stored, but due to the fact that only some blocks are replaced and some are completely new, backup chain with more frequent restore points will take more space.
What backup method are you using (forward/reverse incremental) and what are the bottleneck stats for your jobs?
