I'm preparing new Ubuntu 24.04 repository servers and during the installation, I'm able to select a standard install or a Minimized install. The Minimized install doesn't just remove "snaps" and other Ubuntu specific packages, but it even removes things like Ping, bash auto completion, and things like that.
Is this TOO restrictive for Veeam packages? Will I encounter issues if the OS doesn't have basic functionality like Ping installed? Or is a Minimized Ubuntu Server installation okay for a Veeam repository server? If this'll cause issues, I'll go with a full Ubuntu Server install but not select any additional packages when it asks.

Re: Is Ubuntu Minimized okay, or is this too limited for a Veeam Repository?
Hello,
I didn't test with 24.04, but 22.04 minimal worked fine. We don't need anything except bash. If you see issues, please open a support case and post the case number for reference.
Best regards
Hannes

For the record, went with the minimized Ubuntu 24.04 installation and the Veeam components installed no problem, so should be good!
